October 10, 2024 – Neuschwanstein Castle
Neuschwanstein Castle, which is modeled on medieval knights’ castles and is one of Germany’s most famous sights, was commissioned by King Ludwig II (1845-1886), who ruled Bavaria from 1864 to 1886. Preparatory work on the site near Füssen began in 1868. The laying of the foundation stone of the “New Hohenschwangau Castle” – the name “Neuschwanstein Castle” only became common later – took place on September 5, 1869. The historic building is considered Ludwig’s homage to the Middle Ages in stone, which he was inspired by the legends of the Knights of the Grail and the musical dramas of Richard Wagner (1813-1883).

Bernd MEYER, Vice President of Franking & Stamps at Deutsche Post, introduced the crypto stamp in Germany in 2023 together with RJE.
He worked at Deutsche Post AG (formerly Deutsche Bundespost) from 1978 to 2025. For many years, he was responsible for digital franking processes at Deutsche Post. From 2019 to 2025, he was also responsible for the design and production of stamps.
His statement on the NFT “Worklife:Lifework”: A large part of our lifetime is working time. Thus, the beginning and end of working time, back when we were young, and now older, are very different. Back then, the end of working time was still very far away, today the end is in sight. Looking back, time has passed as quickly as the blink of an eye. But it’s worth taking a look at a life’s work, with its many experiences, great events, and successes, but also challenges, and at the many people who have accompanied and shaped this path. And so, worklife and lifework, working life and life’s work, are very closely intertwined.
