October 18, 2022 – AUGUST
A philatelic thaler with the image of King Sigismund Augustus II has been issued on the occasion of the Communicator’s Day and is intended for the close philatelic community. It is a redeemable cryptocurrency token available in a limited number of 1558 pieces, and this number is no coincidence. 18 October 1558 is considered the date of the birth of the Post in Poland. This is when King Sigismund Augustus established a permanent postal link between Kraków and Venice via Vienna, using mail, or straddle horses. The thaler “AUGUST” can be exchanged for the digital category of the Crypt Stamp under preferential conditions.

Copernicus’ work made a breakthrough and sparked one of the most important scientific revolutions, known as the Copernican Revolution. The thaler is intended for the close philatelic community and is a redeemable, single-use cryptocurrency token that acts as a gift voucher that can be exchanged for the digital category of the Crypto Stamp.

The BRITE-PL mission is part of a Canadian-Austrian-Polish project. The mission has produced two Polish satellites: Lem – launched on 21 November 2013 – and Hevelius – launched on 19 August 2014. The former is the second artificial satellite entirely built in Poland and the first Polish scientific satellite. Its task is to observe stars that are brighter and hotter than the Sun and to better understand the convective processes taking place inside massive stars. Hevelius, another Polish-built satellite, was the last of the BRITE constellation of international astronomical satellites. Hevelius was equipped with a telescope with a red filter, allowing observations of cold, red stars. BRITE-type satellites belong to the so-called nanosatellites with a mass not exceeding 10 kg. The names of the first Polish scientific satellites are not accidental and were chosen in a competition. Stanisław Lem turned out to be unrivalled, and another figure with a high number of votes was Johannes Hevelius.

PROBA is a European Space Agency programme demonstrating in-orbit satellite platform and payload technologies. Proba-3 is a scientific mission, aiming to study the solar corona and demonstrate formation precision flight technologies. The mission involves two small satellite platforms weighing 350 kg and 200 kg, which will orbit in formation, maintaining the precision of each other’s position to an accuracy of less than 1 mm. The two satellite platforms will be controlled in space as if they were two elements of a common ultra-stable rigid structure, forming something like a large telescope (with a separate lens and detector). This rigid structure will be controlled to rotate and focus on any point in space. A number of Polish entities are involved in the mission.

The OPS-SAT mission is the first mission of the European Satellite Operations Centre (ESOC) to be performed on a CubeSat satellite, and its main objective is to test new standards for data exchange between the satellite and the ground segment. New solutions tested during the OPS-SAT mission will be used by larger missions in the future. Polish experts are responsible for the development of the mission’s entire on-board software, control and failure detection systems, for the implementation of the new data exchange standard and for one of the two key OPS-SAT payloads – the CCSDS protocol converter. The launch of the mission took place in December 2019.

The Category 5 emphasises its uniqueness thanks to the process of its creation. This crypto stamp, as the first in the history of Polish philately, was designed with the help of artificial intelligence (A.I.)! The image on its surface is an interpretation of the slogan “Polish scientific satellite space exploration”, presented by a computer neural network – a completely synthetic data processing system modelled on the operation of the human brain. The resulting graphic artwork, in order to better adapt to human perception and the form of the stamp, was then processed by graphic designer. It could be said that we can now, to a certain extent, learn how the computer program sees or imagines the expression presented to it. The Polish Post, by issuing this particular crypt stamp, is marking its commitment to new technologies and its participation in the search for new forms of communication.

On 12 September, a special edition of Crypto Stamp will be released. ” The Battle of Vienna”. This will be a limited edition of 1800 pieces.
Along with this collection, 1000 pieces of, to quote the Chief Beatek, “fancy” commercial folders with a non-perforated stamp will be issued. The folders will be accompanied by a special insert with a special NFT token attached to it (surprise), which will complement the entire collection.
These tokens will form a separate collection but thematically linked to the core collection of the issue. However, any holder of the “The Battle of Vienna” Crypto Stamp and the holder of the special token from the insert included in the folder, who is also the holder of the NFT of the Draconian Philatelist, will be able to exchange the basic version of the NFT of the ” The Battle of Vienna” for its limited special version in a maximum edition of 340 pieces for 340 ZICO, which will return to the pool intended for the community.
There will be only 1000 of these tokens, and anyone who is a holder of the Draconian Philatelist NFT will be able to exchange the basic token for a special one prepared especially for this occasion, one of 340 special tokens. In this exchange, they will lose the basic token in favor of the special token, which will be in a very limited edition of 340 pcs. We plan to enable this exchange through our community token, Zico. The 340 Zico used for the exchange will return to the community pool
